 
The Boise Speed have evolved greatly over time. Before the 2007 season we were known as the Boise Roughriders. The Roughriders were established prior to the 2001 RMFL season through a merger of the Boise Cardinals and the Treasure Valley Cowboys. The winning tradition of these two organizations was quite evident in their first year of existence as they made it all the way to the RMFL Championship game finishing with a 9-3 record overall. The tradition didn't stop there. The Roughriders have fielded a solid team year after year and have reached the playoffs every year of existance. In 2005 the Roughriders reached the North Division Championship Game, only to fall to a very strong madison team. In 2006 injuries, business, family and the loss of the entire 2005 coaching staff kept many core Roughriders from competing. The year was not a total loss though as the Roughriders once again reached the playoffs. Leading into the 2007 campaign we found ourselves once again changing both in name and colors. The Duke Speed Academy became our major sponsor and a new dynasty began. Over the course of the history of this Boise organization many great players have emerged. Many All-Stars and All-League selections can be found here. We are proud when we examine the league records, both team and individual, and find it littered with Roughriders past and present. We will continue this tradition and will continue to proudly represent the Treasure Valley area in the RMFL with players from all walks of life.
